The helmet complete with all gilt fittings, spike chin chain and inner linings; the very fine all gilt KC plate shows a Hart lodged in a ford on a ground of black velvet, on the circle ‘The Hertfordshire Regiment’; the No.1 Dress cap with an all gilt KC cap badge with similar centre and title and correct chin strap buttons; the superb scarlet dress tunic with white facings, rich gilt collar badges showing the Hart and Ford over a scroll ‘Hertfordshire’, the gilt buttons by Jennens & Co.; the twisted shoulder boards with a 2nd Lieutenant’s rank stars and silver bullion ‘T’s; the mess jacket with white facings and corded three button slashed cuffs, the jacket and the waistcoat with mounted pattern gilt buttons, the whole retailed by Messrs Hawkes 14 Piccadilly London and dated 23/9/11, the blue patrol jacket bear’s a Major’s crown rank badges and may not be Brown’s, the gilt rubbed on the spike quadrant and chin chain of the helmet the plate near mint, the patent leather peak on the No.1 Dress cap crazed and with paper deposits some verdigris to the bottom of the cap badge, otherwise excellent condition overall (10) £900-1100
