"The Grave Diggers of Russia", anti-Semitic and anti-Bolshevik booklet - published by Dr. E. Boepple, Deutscher Volksverlag, Munich, [circa 1923], English. A booklet that contains caricatures of thirty personages - Bolsheviks, highly ranked officials in the Soviet administration, anarchists and Jews - depicted as characters with stereotypically Jewish faces. Among these caricatures: Lenin, Trotsky, Emma Goldman and more. The name and the title of each of the personages are printed below each caricature and is accompanied by a short rhyming mockery. The caricatures were illustrated by Otto von Kursell (1884-1967), an anti-semitic illustrator, member of the Reichstag and the director of the University of Arts in Berlin. In the beginning of the booklet there is an introductory article entitled "Jewish Bolshevism", by Alfred Rosenberg, a Nazi ideologist and a war criminal who was sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials. The concept of "Jewish Bolshevism" was invented after the October Revolution by anti-Semitic groups who claimed that the Jews created Communism to serve their own interests. 32 pages, 25 cm. Good condition, few stains. Loose cover, with torn margins.
