When Yamaha introduced its new overhead camshaft Vee-Twin Virago in the 1980s, it was something of a sensation. It was good looking, well-made and affordable. Its styling was a closer to that of a cruiser than a Japanese sport bike, yet its twin didn’t thump like a Harley and it had the smoothness of shaft drive. This 750cc Virago Twin was George Barris' personal kustom motorcycle. Fitted with a partial faring, it is has a custom gold finish with gold leaf detailing and a native American/Southwestern motif. It also is equipped with leather saddlebags. Used in many television shows, movies, biking shows and other events it is reported to have covered very little mileage and to look good and run well.
