Uniformly bound in 19th-century blue half calf over marbled boards, edges stained red, red morocco gilt lettering-pieces (rubbed). FIRST EDITION . Originally published as The Florist in 1848, the name of this periodical continued as The Florist and Garden Miscellany from 1849-1850, and then The Florist, Fruitist and Garden Miscellany from 1851-1861, and finally The Florist and Pomologist from 1862-1884.
