The dress uniform tail-coat and overalls for a Vice Marshal of Her Majesty's Diplomatic Corps, 20th century, to include a court sword and scabbard by Wilkinson & Sons Ltd. London with leatherette protective sheath and with a silver-mounted ebonised cane with white silk tassle and a feather-mounted fore and aft cocked hat The accoutrements of Eustace Hubert Beilby Gibbs, 3rd Baron Wraxall, KCVO, CMG (1929 2017), He served as Her Majesty's Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps from 1982 to 1986. The Vice-Marshal is a member of the Royal Household, providing a connection between the Sovereign and the Heads of Diplomatic Missions in the UK. This includes liaising with diplomats and ambassadors in order to organise Royal audiences and ceremonies. This role was known as the 'Marshal of the Ceremonies' until 1920, when the offices of the Marshal and Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps were instituted
