(8vo), original cloth stamped in gilt, with framed illustration, spine decoratively lettered with floral design. First edition. A women's boat (Greenlandic: umiaq) is the name of a larger Eskimo vessel. It was rowed by four or six women and was controlled mostly by an older man. It is used as means of transport when an Eskimo family traveled from one place to another, and therefore contained the family's worldly possessions such as: tent, utensils, dogs etc. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to edges, foxing; very good Item number: 247277
