The Beatles A previously unpublished black and white 16mm film shot by a film enthusiast/photographer in Adelaide, Australia, on the 12th and 13th June, 1964, the silent footage shot as a record of The Beatles' visit to Adelaide with replacement drummer Jimmy Nicol, contents include: - Beatle fans dancing in the street outside the Centennial Hall prior to the arrival of the group; - Long queues of fans inside the Hall and on the street outside and shots of fans buying tickets for the concert; - Several shots showing preparations of the cavalcade of cars which were to escort and transport The Beatles on their arrival; - Fans lining the route to the airport and journalists waiting on the runway; - The plane carrying the group arriving at the airport and The Beatles disembarking, waving to the crowds and posing for photographs on the plane steps, including close-up footage of John, Paul, George and Jimmy Nicol; - More close-ups of The Beatles and Nicol sitting in an open car and signing autographs prior to being driven in the cavalcade into the city centre; - Crowds of fans lining the route watching The Beatles' entourage drive through; - Shots of a vast crowd of fans in the streets outside the Criterion Hotel, waving their hands and moving excitedly as The Beatles arrive by car; - The Beatles appearing at the hotel balcony, waving to the crowd; - The group appearing at the town hall, waving and looking at the massed fans below, George Harrison photographing the crowd; - A press conference inside, close-ups of John, Paul, George and Jimmy talking to the press, smelling posies of flowers and posing for press shots; - John Lennon being interviewed with his book In His Own Write ; - The Beatles performing on stage at the Centennial Hall, close-up shots of John, Paul and George singing and playing guitar taken from two of their four Adelaide shows, the earlier footage showing The Beatles in dark suits, the latter in pale grey suits; - The group leaving the city centre; - A female fan almost overcome with joy clutching a button she'd retrieved in the crush from one of The Beatles' jackets; - The Beatles arriving at the airport and departing on the plane; full running time approx. -- 27mins. including approx. 10 mins. footage of The Beatles To be sold with copyright Whilst the seller confirms that this property is sold with copyright, Christie's can accept no liability to any matters arising as a result of any imperfection in copyright given
