The lithographed plates for this edition, illustrating scenes from the book and also printed by Evans and Cogswell, are quite captivating. In this copy, pp. 97-98 and 103-104 repeated. Lot Amendments Condition: Front wrapper soiled and worn, lacking the rear wrapper, spine partially perished, the work split vertically in two sections at p.192; pages dog-eared, particularly earlier leaves, some darkening and aging to the poor quality paper, lacking plate 10, just good, sold as is, but quite rare.
