Three-quarters green pebbled cloth, marbled sides. 8 x 5 inches (20.3 x 12.5 cm); 24 pp. Light binding wear, the Bar Association stamp on the title, together with an old ink notation (No. 2) at the head, with an accession number in ink on the verso, a pale marginal dampstain throughout (just entering the text), very faint foxing. This is the first printing of the constitution of the Republic of Texas, one of the eight great state papers of Texas, according to Streeter. It is quite uncommon, and we note only one copy at auction in the past thirty years.
