i) flyer for Dillons University Bookshop poetry reading for Faber & Faber poets (W.H. Auden; Ted Hughes; Seamus Heaney; Stephen Spender) at the Collegiate Theatre, Gordon Street, London, 18 October 1973, heavily creased with closed tears at extremities;
ii) early copy of typescript for Ted Hughes’ “Introduction to a Selection of Shakespeare’s Verse”, 19pp., pp. 10-19 numbered in ink, paperclipped; Ted Hughes’ own carbon copy of “Introduction to a Selection of Shakespeare’s Verse”, 9pp. (3pp. + 6pp. “Note”), with Hughes’ manuscript corrections, paperclipped, some wear;
iii) carbon copy of another draft of “Introduction to a Selection of Shakespeare’s Verse”, manuscript correction on p. 5, stapled; original manuscript of pp. 7-19 of “Introduction to a Selection of Shakespeare’s Verse”, editorial notes in pencil (not in Ted Hughes’ hand); 177 pp. printed extracts of Shakespeare’s verse pasted onto sheets of paper; browning, creasing, minor tape repairs, and some small closed tears throughout;
iv) xerox proof copy of Ted Hughes’ play “The Coming of the Kings”, 34pp., minor corrections in ballpoint pen, paperclipped, extremities slightly browned;
v) Letter from Sharon Weilbaker (Assistant to Peter Hyun) at Doubleday, addressed to Olwyn Hughes, 17 July 1972: “After reorganizing our files for WITH FAIREST FLOWERS WHILE SUMMER LASTS by Ted Hughes, we thought you might like to keep the enclosed for your own personal use”, 1p., slightly soiled and browned at upper margin;
vi) original typescript of Ted Hughes’ “A Bedtime Story”, minor manuscript corrections in Hughes’ hand, note on cover in ballpoint pen: “Return to: | Olwyn Hughes| Flat B | 10 Arkwright Rd | London NW3”, stapled, some creases and browning;
vii) Ted Hughes’ carbon copy of “The Price of a Bride”, 16pp., in an orange folder, 2pp. with coffee stain, browned;
viii) four carbon copies of “Up: A Play for Television by John Major”, Olwyn Hughes’ address listed as “Court Green | North Tawton | Devonshire” (suggesting that she may have sent out the typescript while living there for a short period on and off between 1963-1965, after Sylvia Plath’s death), stapled, all copies creased and browned, one copy with p. 18 detached and lacking p. 19;
ix) BBC Radio - Home Service (Schools) script for “Listening and Writing: The Coming of the Kings”, 1966, 25pp., stapled, extremities browned;
x) xerox copy of “Orpheus: A 20 minute drama for Adults or for Children (to be performed shortly on the BBC)” by Ted Hughes, 12pp., in a grey folder;
xi) xerox copy of “Sean, the Devil and the Fool: a play for children… Presented on BBC Schools Programme Home Service” by Ted Hughes, 14pp., stamp of author’s agent (“Produktion Sessler Verlag”) on title, blue “Verlag” label on upper cover, in a grey folder, rust residue from paperclip;
xii) typescript of “Sean, the Devil, and the Fool”, a few manuscript corrections, 13pp., slightly creased and browned at extremities;
xiii) copy of BBC Home Service (Schools) radio script for “Living Language: The House of Donkeys”, a radio play based on Chinese folk-tale by Ted Hughes, 18pp., dated “16.9.1965” on final page, manuscript revisions (not in Hughes’ hand), stapled and paperclipped, extremities frayed and with tape residue;
xiv) copy of “The Wound” by Ted Hughes, for transmission on radio on Tuesday 30 January, 3.00-5.00 p.m., recording details on front sheet, 46pp., dated “18.1.62” on final page, paperclipped, some spotting and browning, creased and frayed at extremities;
xv) 3 copies of “Listening and Writing – The Tiger’s Bones”, a play by Ted Hughes for BBC Home Service (Schools), rehearsal and recording details on front sheets, for transmission on 26 November 1965, comprising copy of parts 1 and 2 stapled together (12pp. + 14pp., dated “18.11.65” and “26.11.65”) and 2 further copies of part 2 (each 14pp., dated “26.11.65”), creased and browned at extremities;
xvi) Olwyn Hughes, notes on plays by clients (including Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes), creased;
xvii) magazine page with photograph of Hughes as a young man accompanied by his lyric “Theology”, creased and torn;
