Taylor 1970 Taylor 1970 Lot 672: Good levels, labels slightly soiled, 1 wrinkled, green wax capsules, 1 chipped and badly damaged, 1 missing, 1 bottle with old signs of seepage Lot 673: u. 2bn, 3vts, 2ts, 1t/hs, 5 labels slightly soiled, 1 soiled, 1 damaged, 1 badly wine stained, 1 missing, 4 bottles with signs of old seepage, plain wax capsules, 4 chipped and damaged Deep, almost crimson colour, astonishing for its age. A real floral/violets scent, lingering and alluring. A phenomenal contrast to the style of 1966. Cherries and liquorice on the nose too. All-enveloping, highly black liquorice taste. Great concentration and body on the palate. Alcoholic dates! Sweet/ripe maraschino cherries at the end. Tastes younger than the 1977! I see a comparison with the 1997 - a hot year and superb wine.
