Beil (1894-1976) was a Montana cowboy, during which time he befriend Charles Russell Russell later referred to Beil as the "best feller I ever seen modeling hosses an' cowpunchers". Beil would later participate in Russell's funeral procession. He was primarily a bronze sculptor, specializing in western scenes. Provenance: Karl & Ernest Moon Estate, Wilmington, Ohio Condition: Some foxing, not removed from frame.
