Lot of 4. Quarter plate daguerreotype portrait of a young woman wearing a blue dress, expertly tinted, and black lace gloves, holding a folding fan. J.H. Whitehurst: New York, Baltimore, Richmond, etc. Housed in pressed paper case with figural motif. Whitehurst hallmark to brass mat and velvet pad. (Image somewhat faded but else quite fine, some spotting to brass mat, glass would benefit from cleaning, case split, wear to case extremities). Quarter plate ambrotype portrait of a woman wearing a white dress, an apron with a lovely floral motif, and a bonnet. Housed in full pressed paper case with floral motif. (Image quite faded, wear to case extremities). Sixth plate tintype portrait of an attractive young woman wearing a dark, off-the-shoulder dress. Her bracelets expertly gilt, she holds a fan and wears a crucifix necklace. E.[dward] Jacobs: New Orleans. Housed in pressed paper case. Jacobs hallmark to brass mat. (Image in very clear and well composed, quite fine; half case only, minor spots to brass mat). Ninth plate daguerreotype portrait of a woman wearing a checked dress and a large hat.
