(Photographica, 28th October 2020) Stereocards, Italy interest c. 1860s Stereocards, Italy interest c. 1860s SELECTION OF STEREOCARDS WITH ITALIAN LIFE SCENES, VIEWS, ARCHITECTURE AND SCULPTURES, cities including Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, Naples and Pisa, photographers including Giorgio Sommer (1834–1914) and Carlo Naya (1816–1882). Stereocards (57) albumen prints, image size approx., 75 x 75mm, card size approx., 180 x 85mm, 175 x 85mm, ink annotations on card recto and verso, titled and numbered with photographers names typed on card, some examples with photographers copyright stamp verso. Provenance: Concrete Matter Archive (Qty: 57) Concrete Matter Archive This collection come from the archive of Frido Troost (1960 – 2013) a pioneering figure in the photography world. Art historian, teacher, curator, dealer, Troost contributed to the world of photography with legendary exhibition spaces and archives aming which the Institute for Concrete Matter in Haarlem (Netherlands), where photographs were thoroughly archived.
