V and VI with sections painted in, vol.I with free endpaper and blank destached. Provenance : Mount Morris Library (bookplate, stamps). first edition, a mixed set of this important work on women’s suffrage. This work was published over an extended period, hence the evolution of the bindings, and is rarely found complete. Vol.I includes a tipped-in letter from M.J. Gage to Mr. F.W. Sleeper, voll.II was an inscription by S.B. Anthony to Maria G. Porter.
