THE FIRST GEMINI MEDALLION TO BE FLOWN IN SPACE. Flown Gemini 3 medallion, 1 inch in diameter, made of sterling silver. The crew mission emblem is on the obverse with the crew names of Grissom and Young. Displayed with THOMAS P. STAFFORD'S signed provenance card, which reads in part: "The Gemini 3 medallion attached to this card was presented to me by the Gemini 3 crew of Gus Grissom and John Young after their March 1965 flight.... Sadly, Gus later died on January 27, 1967, when a fire erupted during tests inside the Apollo 1 spacecraft.... The changes made to the Apollo spacecraft enabled me to fly to the moon with John and Gene Cernan on Apollo 10 during May 1969."
