Their Originals, Manners, Habits, Warres, Coines, and Seales: with the Successions, Lives, Acts, and Issues of the English Monarchs from Julius Cæsar, unto the Raigne of King James of famous Memorie, 3rd edition, Revised, enlarged, and newly corrected, with sundry descents of the Saxon Kings, Their Marriages and Armes, printed by John Dawson, for George Humble, 1631, engraved portrait frontispiece of John Speed printer's woodcut device to title, woodcut illustrations, initial letters, and head and tail-pieces, frontispiece and title-page both edge-frayed in places with slight loss to lower blank margins, and both laid down, title with remains of old catalogue description label to upper left corner, title and final leaf dust-soiled and with some marks, dedication leaf with paper repair to small loss in lower blank margin, some intermittent minor worming to lower edge of page block, final two gatherings slightly creased, and final leaf with portion missing from lower blank margin, free endpapers browned, stitching strained and partially broken, contemporary calf, with early gilt tooled reback, rubbed and soiled, extremities worn, with some losses to spine, edges showing, and upper cover just holding on the cords, folio in 6s (Qty: 1) STC 23049. A variant of the third edition dated 1631. A clean copy internally, and with the portrait, which is often absent.
