Later quarter calf (overall rubbing, chipping and staining). Provenance: J. B. Speed Art Museum, Louisville, Kentucky (white manuscript shelf marks on spines, pencilled shelf numbers on verso of title). John Speed historian and cartographer, first published his Historie of Great Britaine in 1611. The Historie is a companion piece to his atlas The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine .
