SPANISH MANUSCRIPT WITH ONE FULL PAGE ILLUMINATION. Manuscript on vellum, Valladolid 30 october, 1552. Large 4to (about 285x220). In Spanish gothic style, 25 leaves with about 40 lines in black ink, with red help lines, bears the notary's paraph at the foot of every page and his certification at the end. 5 larger initials in gold on red ground. With 1 full page illumination on verso of title leaf with a large initial "D" (as in Don Carlos) surrounding a coat-of-arms, below a small circular portrait of emperor Charles V and several figures and decorative renaissance elements in gold and grey on red grounds a blue silk cloth. Some minor wearing, the initial "D" has its outer edges cut off. Contemporary dark brown full leather, boards with blindtooled and gilt decor, text "Campos" written on top of board in later style, partly somewhat warped, partly renovated at lower spine and corners (at the Royal Library in Stockholm in 1965), some rubbing and wearing, with a red, green and yellow band in the middle of the manuscript and on spine. Partly trimmed to upper edges. Text with some minor spotting and wearing. Bookplate of Seved Tegefors. Photo. Legal document written on behalf of the family del Campo. From the library of Seved Tegefors (1915-2012, county medical officer in Torsby, Värmland). Bought by the former owner at renowned antiquarian bookshop Branner in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1963.
