A good collection of correspondence to the various Secretaries of the period including letters, condolences, umpires reports, elections of officers, players' hotel receipts and pay sheet, greetings cards, the laws of cricket, players' travel arrangements, reports on umpires etc. Many items signed by the featured player or official. Signed items include replies from 'Nip' Pellew and Clarrie Grimmett accepting invitations to attend a function in honour of Gil Langley and Phil Ridings in 1957, a number of replies to letters of condolence from family members of recently bereaved cricketers including Jack Ryder, Stan McCabe, Alan Kippax, Johnnie Taylor, Bert Oldfield, also a handwritten note signed by Clarrie Grimmett following the death of his wife in 1968. An official greetings card for the 'Australian touring cricket team '69/70' with handwritten message, 'Best wishes to all at the S.A.C.A., Regards Eric [Freeman]- Ian [Chappell]- Ashley [Mallett]'. Other signed letters include Rick Darling confirming receipt of a cheque, Len Darling, Bill Johnston and Ian Johnson, each responding to receipt of honorary membership. A letter from Bert Oldfield requesting a complimentary ticket for a friend from England for the 1953 Test at Adelaide, a request for a ground pass from Peter Loader, a letter from Richie Benaud regarding arrangements for a cocktail party at the Adelaide Oval in 1970, letter of resignation from the Ground and Finance Committee from Jack Nitschke, handwritten letters of thanks from Harry Altham, Freddie Brown, letters from Dilip Doshi, Mushtaq Mohammad and Sadiq Mohammad offering their services to play for South Australia, Doug Walters on receiving an M.B.E. Letters from Ray Robinson of the New South Wales Cricket Association relating to 'the decision about bowlers' actions and drag' with an annotation to 'Refer Sir Donald [Bradman]' (1959), proposals for an experimental front-foot no-ball rule (1968). A request from Ashley Mallett requesting permission 'to play in matches organised by World Series Cricket in the 1977-78 season' with accompanying copy letter in reply rejecting his request, and subsequent correspondence from Mallett following his decision to retire from cricket in 1977. Correspondence with Marylebone Cricket Club in 1948 relating to pitch dimensions. Arrangements for hotel accommodation for Bradman in Sydney, 1960. Taxi receipts signed by Greg Chappell, Younis Ahmed and Ashley Mallett. Medical reports on injuries to Gary Cosier, Jeffrey Hammond, Ian Redpath, Terry Jenner and Ashley Mallett. Nomination forms for official posts signed by the proposers Bill Johnston, Don Bradman, Jeff Noblet etc. Official declarations of childhood illnesses and operations for David Hookes, Ashley Mallett, Ian Chappell, Gary Cosier, Terry Jenner and Eric Freeman each signed by the respective player.
