Title: Songs of the Gardens Author: Warlock, Peter, editor Place: London Publisher: The Nonesuch Press Date: 1925 Description: 96 pp. Title page engraving by Stephen Gooden and miscellaneous ornamental wood engravings by W. M. R Quick. (4to), original vellum boards. No. 755 of 875 copies printed on Van Gelder laid paper at the Curwen Press. A representative selection of the songs that were sung at the London pleasure gardens during the last half of the 18th century. The binding here is bowed as usual. (This binding was an acknowledged failure as an experiment, with the Publisher offering to rebind copies returned gratis.) Lot Amendments Condition: Boards bowed as usual, with some spotting and darkening to spine, some splitting at spine ends; offsetting to front endpapers from a catalogue entry for the volume that had been pasted in, toning; very good. Lots sold without reserve are sold "as Is" and are not returnable under any circumstances. The minimum shipping and handling per invoice is $25 for shipments to the US and $40 for shipments sent outside the US Please consider this when determining your bid amounts. Item number: 286577
