The blue, red and black-printed plates each entitled 'The Service of the Passover', decorated with reserves named in English and in Hebrew with foods served at a Seder, the border with reserves similarly inscribed clockwise with the order of the service; two more plates and a soup plate each printed in blue with the word 'Matzah' in Hebrew on a ground of strapwork, the wide border with quotations relating to Passover alternating with named cartouches of scenes taken from the Amsterdam Haggadah of 1712, each 9.7/8in. (25.1cm.) diam.; together with an English ironstone platter printed in the 'Douglas' pattern and with a later Hebrew inscription relating to Matzah, the center with an inscription in Hebrew related to matzah, the border with clusters of thistle and roses within tartan bands, 13in. (33cm.) diam.; two scalloped glass plates, each press-moulded in the center with the Star of David, the wide border with a Hebrew inscription, arches enclosing stylized flowers and a further band of flowerheads, 4.7/8in. (12.4cm.) diam.; and two modern Royal Doulton limited edition plates, designed by James B.
