Title: Six pairs of bookends of Native Americans. Author: ** Place: N.p. Publisher: Date: [20th Cent] Description: Includes: Two pairs of bookends featuring almost identical bust images of a Native American Chief. The bronze-painted set is 5½" tall with 1½x4½" base, which retains original felt (very worn). The gold-painted set is 6" tall with 2¾4½" base, which is missing its original felt (traces left). * Cast metal pair of a three-quarter profile of the bust of a Native American Chief. 4½" tall with 2¼x4¼¼" base. * Metal pair of bookends with frontal view of only the face and headdress of a Native American Chief. 3½" tall with 1¾x4½" base. * Silver-painted lightweight metal action scene of a Native American man running with his dog. 5½" tall with 2x4½" base. * Metal figure of a Native American man holding a bow, with a sling of arrows on his back, one knee supporting his weight upon a rock, as he puts one arm across his forehead to shield the sun as he looks into the distance. The figure and rock are mounted on a largely black marble base. Green felt on bottom, labeled with the stamp of the Weidlich Brothers Manufacturing Company (W B MFG CO.) along with the number 769. 9" tall with 3½x7½" half circle base. [c.1930]. Lot Amendments Condition: Each showing signs of age; the Weidlich Brothers sculptural bookends has a crack in the rock and the mounting is a little loose to one of the two; else condition of all is very good.
