SIR HENRY WATKIN WILLIAMS-WYNN'S AMBASSADORIAL DISHES AND COVERS A GEORGE II AND A GEORGE III SILVER SECOND COURSE DISH WITH A PAIR OF PLATED DISH COVERS EN SUITE THE DISHES WITH THE MARK OF JOHN HUGH LE SAGE LONDON, 1749 AND SEBASTIAN AND JAMES CRESPELL, LONDON, 1765, THE DISH COVERS APPARENTLY UNMARKED, CIRCA 1820 The dishes circular and with a gadrooned rim, the domed cover fluted and with a part gadrooned rim, with a detachable double loop handle, one broken, each dish and cover later engraved with a coat-of-arms, the dishes further engraved with the Royal crest, the dishes marked underneath, one further engraved with a scratchweight '35=10', the other 'No.4 34=6' the dishes 12½ in. (31.7 cm.) diam. 65 oz. (2,035 gr.) The arms are those of Wynn quartering Williams and others with a cadency mark of a mullet for third son, for Sir Henry Watkin Williams-Wynn G.C.H., K.C.B. (1783-1856), son of Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn 4th Bt. (4)
