Lot of 3. Truman, Harry (1884-1972). President of the United States (1945-1953). 8 x 10 in. photograph with FDI at bottom; 3.5 x 5 in. memorial card for Robert Kennedy; and envelope addressed to sender. Signature July 8, 1964 and postmark May 29, 1964 in Boston. Signed after his term as president, Truman inscribes the photograph at top right, "Kind regards," to the recipient. Two stamps are affixed at bottom, one 5 cent stamp of Kennedy and a 40 cent stamp of Truman and Brazil. The FDI is postmarked in Boston May 29, 1964. The lot also includes a memorial card for Robert Kennedy. On the recto of the card is a somber excerpt of Robert Kennedy's speech on the death of Martin Luther King Jr. "What we need in the United States...is love and wisdom and compassion toward one another," said Kennedy, "whether they be white or they be black." The last item in the lot is an envelope addressed to the sender. Condition: Residue from tape on the recto of the FDI.
