The Ferrari 348 is widely regarded among the tifosi as the car that truly brought Ferrari into the modern era. A vastly superior car to its predecessor – the 328 – the 348 featured a dry-sump, 3.4 liter, quad-cam V8 mounted midship, and was visually distinguished by styling cues borrowed from the Testarossa, most notably its straked side air intakes. A truly engaging car to drive, the 348 also birthed Ferrari's hugely successful Challenge series, when the factory-prepared 348 Challenge model burst onto the scene.
