SHAW, Stebbing (1762-1802). The History and Antiquities of Staffordshire , London: by and for J. Nichols, sold by J. Robson T. Payne, and J. White 1798-1801. 2 volumes, volume I and II, part I [all published], 2° (430 x 261mm). 2 folding engraved frontispiece maps, 82 plates by T. Donaldson and others after Shaw and others, 3 letterpress tables, illustrations. (Lacking half title in vol. I, a few corners in both vols. lightly waterstained, a few margins a little frayed, Ggg2, Ggg3 & 5M3 and margin of two plates in vol. I with laminated repair, letterpress table in vol. II repaired on verso, frontispiece map browned, some light mainly marginal browning or spotting.) Contemporary half calf (rebacked, rubbed and scuffed). Provenance : Henry Worthington (signature on both titles). FIRST EDITION. Upcott III, p.1176. (2)
