Lot details By Nishiyama Shosaku (b. 1974), signed Shosaku Japan, 1995 Exhibited: Gallery of the Tamaya Department Store, Hakuji Nishiyama Shosaku to ten, Fukuoka, 3-9 October 1995 Delicately potted in the form of a flower blossom, the bulbous lobed body supported on a short tapered foot and rising to a petal-lobed rim, covered overall in a lustrous white glaze with a light bluish tint to the interior, the foot rim left unglazed, the base signed under the glaze SHOSAKU. HEIGHT 33.6 cm Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and firing irregularities. Provenance: Dutch collection. With the original wood tomobako, inscribed to the cover Seiji yu kabin Kashugama Nishiyama Shosaku and sealed Nishiyama Tadashi, the underside of the cover inscribed Saga-ken tennyusen saku, and with Japanese leaflets describing the work and achievements of the artist.
