The hero is Martinus Scriblerus, character/author created by The Scriblerus Club (informal association of authors, Jonathan Swift and Alexander Pope being the nucleus) through whose writings they accomplished their satirical aims. Illustrated with a frontispiece, 6 plates by L.-P. Boitard (placed at the begin. of each book; one showing the aerial combat between an English and a German) and 1 vign. title.
