IN A JEWELED BINDING SET WITH 15 AMETHYSTS, 6 MOONSTONES, 4 GARNETS, 1 OPAL AND 16 PIECES OF MOTHER-OF-PEARL, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, mauve levant morocco, covers with richly gilt and onlaid borders with moss-roses surrounded by bands of strapwork forming hearts at the corners, a central sunken panel on the front with a dove executed in grey and brown morocco on a richly gilt pointillé ground inlaid with 14 amethysts, 6 moonstones and 12 pieces of mother-of-pearl, the back cover with a central sunken panel with four heart-shaped pieces of mother of pearl worked into a strapwork design, all on a richly gilt pointillé ground inlaid with 4 garnets and an opal, spine in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt-lettered in two, a repeating strapwork panel in the remaining with 4 heart-shaped inlays at center of a pointillé ground, green morocco doublures and endleaves richly gilt with a dove tool in a border of goose-grass, a diaper of hearts covering the central panel, gilt and gauffred edges; plush- and velvet-lined calf folding case.
