RUSKIN, John (1819-1900). Letters from John Ruskin to Frederick J. Furnivall, M.A. And Other Corrspondents . Ed. by Thomas J. Wise. London: Privately Printed, 1897. 8 o . Original cloth; morocco slipcase. LIMITED EDITION, one of 30 copies only. [ Tipped in: ] RUSKIN. Autograph letter signed ("J Ruskin") to Mr. Hall, n.p., n.d. 2 pages, 8vo . Saying he did not know what to do "in this matter of the Turner gallery -- when I so apparently in carelessness accepted the gift-- but also I had no idea of the extent and value of the work." Ruskin agrees to take it as long as there is no one else Mr. Hall would prefer to give it to "but I will take it as from an old friend--not a new one--for you would have been my friend and I yours, had we known each other a little better, long ago." [ Laid-in: ] RUSKIN. Autograph letter signed ("J Ruskin") to Mr. Simon, n.p., n.d. 2 pages, 8vo . "Thanks for the little line about Rossetti," Ruskin begins, and goes on to mention his recent health and occupations to amuse himself. [ Also laid-in: ] RUSKIN. Check signed ("John Ruskin"), 13 May 1886, for £10 10p to Frank Randal
