Description: Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Officers Fur Busby Belonging to Lieutenant Charles Dunlop, Died of Wounds Received 22nd October 1914, superb example of an officers fur busby of fusilier pattern. The busby is complete with its original fine quality officers silver gilt busby grenade. White feather plume to the side of the busby. Interior with the original leather liner with gilt tooled retailers details of “W CATER & CO”. Complete with its leather backed brass linked chin strap. Housed in its original metal storage tin with W CATER & CO retailers plaque and painted to the front “C. DUNLOP ROYAL INNISKILLING FUSILIERS”. The busby remains in excellent condition. Lieutenant Charles Dunlop was from Ballylesson, Ireland. He gained a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant into the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on 22nd January 1913. He proceeded overseas as a Lieutenant with the 2nd Battalion of the Inniskilling Fusiliers. He was wounded in action at the battle of Aisne and eventually succumbed to these wounds on 22nd October 1914. He is buried at Les Gonards Cemetery, Versailles, France.
