Royal Christmas Card signed by Elizabeth the Queen Mother ('Elizabeth R') and inscribed "To Xenia", with printed greetings "With Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year", mounted colour photograph of the Castle of Mey with hand written annotation "A picture of my little castle in the far North of Scotland", embossed gilt crown, light spotting to cover, 8vo, 16x 20.8cm, [c.1956] The card is addressed to Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna of Russia, sister of the last tzar Nicholas II and first cousin to George V. After the Revolution she fled Russia and settled in the United Kingdom.
