Vol. IV contains the excerpt "Les Amours de Milord Edouard Bomston (pp. 350-376), with a note from the editor on page 350: "Cette pièce qui paroit pour la première fois, a été copiée sur le manuscrit original et unique de la main de l'auteur qui appartient, & existe entre les mains de Mad. la Maréchale de Luxembourg, qui a bien voulu le confier". This remained unpublished during his lifetime, and published for the first time in this edition. Contemporary half calf, gilt spines with title labels, redspeckled edges (partly worn bindings, vol. I with split to inner hinge, upper part of vol. 4 damaged). Vol. I with later endpapers. Some tears to inner margin on page I in vol. I, text partly with some foxing and spotting, some dampstaining to the ten first leaves in vol. II, small inkstain on edges to vol. III. LACKING THE ENGRAVED PORTRAIT AND ALL 13 ENGRAVED PLATES.
