Philadelphia: L. N. Rosenthal, 1855. Chromolithograph (645 x 755 mm). Condition: dampstaining, marginal tears, some repaired with tape on verso, long closed tear where mounted in upper margin. Provenance: Martin P. Snyder. "In this elaborately decorated room, three series of benches with carved Gothic backs line the sides, and at the end six chairs in a row face the room. Behind them are two very large chairs. A chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The floor and seat coverings are blue in color. The New Masonic Hall, built on the site of a former Masonic Hall, 713-721 Chestnut Street, was dedicated on November 26, 1855. The Grand Lodge Room was on the second floor and was considered unusually splendid" (Wainwright). Wainwright 160.
