ROMANO-BRITISH BRONZE PEACOCK PLATE BROOCH Circa 2nd century AD A silvered bronze plate brooch in the form of a peacock with segmented breast, wing and trailing tail, the eye a ring-and-dot motif; on the reverse the pin and catchplate still present. Bronze, 3.22 grams, 22 mm (4/5"). Very fine condition, complete with pin. [No Reserve] Provenance Private UK collection, by descent from the vendor's father, a metal detectorist, who formed his collection in the 1970's-1980's, from his own finds and by buying from a shop in Cambridgeshire, owned by Alan Fordham.
