ROMAN BRONZE BROOCH GROUP 1st-3rd century AD A mixed group of bronze plate brooches comprising: one discoid with concentric rings, inset silver pelletted panel to the centre, pin, pin-lugs and catchplate to the reverse; one a stylised bird with openwork body and beaked head, inset enamel panel, pin and catchplate to the reverse; one formed as a symmetrical arrangement of La Tène style trumpet motifs, spring, pin and catchplate to the reverse; one amphora-shaped with trefoil head, inlaid silver palmette and zigzag border to the body, pin, pin-lugs and catchplate to the reverse; one with trapezoidal plate, raised boss and openwork D-shaped head, pin, pin-lugs and catchplate to the reverse. 75 grams total, 42-56 mm (1 3/4 - 2 1/4").
