One full-page woodcut, 19 smaller cuts, numerous roundels; large calligraphic woodcut initial opening the text, 3-line woodcut initials in index. (Light dampstaining and spotting, I6 and K1 torn effecting some text, Y1,2 torn with loss and repaired, internal tears in five other leaves with loss of a few letters, a little worming.) Early 17th-century flexible buff paper covered pasteboard backed with a large Bible fragment containing the latter half of Luke 15 dating from the third quarter of the 12th-century (somewhat worn and scuffed). Second edition in German of Rolewinck's extremely popular chronological history of the world. It is a reprint of the first German edition printed in Basel in 1481 by Richel, but with the passage on Pope Joan suppressed. Prüss had previously printed 4 Latin editions, from which the woodcuts here derive, but in this edition he has added an extra 4 woodcuts and removed the small comet.
