A COSWAY BINDING, dark blue crushed levant morocco, covers with double gilt fillet around ornate gilt tooled corner and side ornaments and SET WITH THREE LARGE MINIATURES BY MISS C.B. CURRIE (two portraits of the Dauphin on upper cover, circular and oval: 68mm., 2 11/16in. diam. and 72 x 60mm., 2 13/16 x 2 3/8in., a view of the Temple on lower cover, oval: 87 x 70mm., 3 7/16 x 2 3/4in.), each in ornamental gilt tooled frame; spine in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt lettered in two compartments, an ornamental panel in the rest; board edges with double gilt fillet, turn-ins richly gilt, doublures and free endpages of ivory watered silk, t.e.g., stamp-signed by the binders on upper turn-in and in gilt on the lower doublure: "Miniatures by C.B. Currie", joints dry but sound, some color loss to spine, cloth slipcase. Illustrated. (duPont)
