Account of Certificates for Liquidated Debts of the United States presented at the Continental Loan Office for the State of Virginia, and of Interest paid there on, pursuant to Ordinances of Congress, of September 17th, 1785-1786. 12 leaves. Oblong folio, contents loose in custom slipcase, sewn in modern paper wraps. Register of Revolutionary War debt certificates issued by the state of Virginia to help pay for costs incurred during the War. Recorded and assembled by John Hopkins, loan officer for Virginia. Signed by Joseph Nourse, first United States Register of the Treasury, Treasury Department Register's Office, September 5, 1792. Marginal chipping and browning to leaves; horizontal fold with splitting at creases on some leaves. Estimate $ 3,000-5,000
