Zürich 1933, d. s.p. 2014) An original black-and-white press photograph of the Argentinian born Cuban revolutionary leader Ernesto “Che” Guevara in the government building in Havana in January 1963. Back stamped “La Habana 25 de Octubre de 1967”. Oak wood frame. Visible size 12.5×19 cm. Frame size 23×32 cm. The photographer René Buri visited Cuba in January 1963 on behalf of the American magazine Look and during his stay he created a series of images which since gained iconic status. The present photograph was manufactured a few weeks after Ernesto “Che” Guevara's death on October 9, 1967. The Cuban authorities concealed the news about Guevara's death until October 20.
