.36 cal., 24" octagonal-to-round barrel, S/N 25. Marked on top of barrel in three lines Patented Sept 14, 1858 E. Remington & Sons Ilion New York, New Model. Brass buttplate, toeplate and triggerguard. Walnut stock. Condition: Barrel and frame are very sharp and crisp with a nice mellow plum look. The finish has just turned to a plum with iridescence of blue bleeding through. Cylinder was cleaned at one time and re-patinated. Triggerguard retains most of the original silver plating and has oxidized to black. Brass still has its original sheen. Stock has some scratches on the left side of stock near the buttplate. Stock has had a coat of shellac or something applied giving it a sheen. Stock does have some nicks and dings.
