.50-70. 35.8" barrel length. SN: NSN. Blued and casehardened finish is a brown patina overall with rifle showing a weak cartouche to left wrist and smooth edges to wood indicating it was sanded. Single-shot rolling-block rifle with knurled hammer spur and block knob curled to right. Left receiver marked MODEL 1871 with right stamped {Spread Eagle}/U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1872. Tang marked REMINGTON'S PATENT/PAT. MAY 3RD NOV 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1868. Upper barrel band has U stamp and buttplate marked US but no stamp remains visible on lower band. Right side of stock stamped 59. Condition: Good. Bore is bright with patina forming at muzzle. Metal finish is a dark brown patina overall with signs of light pitting to top of barrel. Stock has sanded smooth edges with a pair of slivers broken off on both sides of tang and some chips to handguard along barrel.
