.357 magnum caliber, 6.5" barrel length, S/N 58741. Left side of the barrel marked "Smith & Wesson." Right side of the barrel marked "S&W .357 Magnum." Right side of the frame behind cylinder marked with S&W logo. Below the cylinder on the right side of the frame marked "Made in U.S.A." The hammer is marked with patent date. Bottom of the back strap next to serial number is marked with a star indicating a factory re-finish or factory re-work. Front blade sight and rear notched adjustable sight. Six-shot fluted cylinder with silver medallion manga style grips. Blue finish with case colored hammer and trigger. Condition: This rare registered .357 Magnum Smith & Wesson is in very good condition retaining nearly all the factory finish with wear to the muzzle, high edges and the left side of frame. All markings are sharp and crisp and have not been buffed over. It is our opinion that the star was for factory mechanical work. Displays cylinder drag. Case color on the hammer and the trigger are present but dulling. The grips are good with handling wear. The bore is very good and mechanically functional.
