Beautiful piece of library furniture, mounted in tripodal saber leg stand with 9" diameter ornately printed compass attached at base between legs, also in mahogany frame. Globe appears to be hand colored printed map of constellations, 18" diameter with engraved brass 360-degree ring mount so it can be moved to any orientation. All resting in wood ring frame with printed months of the year and major Zodiac signs. Signed on both globe and compass star "Smith & Son London." Total diameter with frame 24", total height 43". Condition:Original crazed and toned over-varnish, a number of very small places with paper loss at joints, still VG.
