.44 Russian. 6" barrel length. SN: 27613. Double-action top-break revolver with latch mounted rear notch and semicircular front blade sights. Item shows a nickel refinish overall with Smith & Wesson marked hard rubber grips. Barrel rib marking reads "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D JAN. 17 & 24. 65/JULY 11. 65. AUG. 24. 69. JULY 25. 71. DEC. 2. 79. MAY 11 & 25. 1880.". No other markings visible except for matching serial numbers to butt and rear of cylinder. Item shows nickel plated small parts and screw heads indicating it was refinished in nickel at some point. Some light pitting around forcing cone that has been filled in with nickel. Condition: Good as Refinished. Bore is frosty with some residue throughout but retains strong rifling. Re-nickel finish has flaked off of front of cylinder and shows some weakened spots and pinpoint patina forming on barrel and frame. Nickel has weakened on grips and triggerguard. Grips show heavy handling wear with checkering worn almost flat in places. Grips are a mustard color with some scratches in addition to oxidation on grip screw head. Action indexes and times correctly with loose lockup.
