Lot of 40 real photo postcards. Many feature men and women sporting period fashions, including a woman in a pleated blouse and embroidered skirt reclining on a bench, a suave looking young man wearing a straw hat, a woman at the beach with bouffant hair and dotted bikini, several young couples dancing at the Santa Catalina Casino Ballroom, and a group of three women wearing sumptuous furs and three men wearing dark jackets and brimmed hats at a scenic Western overlook. Others feature an array of interior and exterior views of interestingly engineered structures including a model house at House of David Park in Benton Harbor, MI; the historic Two-Gwo-Tee Inn located in Dubois, WY; the Highland House in Londonderry, VT; a ca 1912 village in East Salamanca, NY; the Sincere & Co. building in Shanghai, China; and what is likely a Hindu temple. Most postally unused (some including inscriptions); 2 with postage stamps and inscriptions, including one cancelled in Boothbay Harbor, ME, 1931, and one cancelled in Dubois, WY. Highlights include an image of two men in caps and traveling clothes, captioned "'The Count and / his Valet,'" as well as a well-styled man on a balcony with a geometric flooring inlay and a potted plant. He wears lightweight suiting separates, a striped tie, and spectator shoes and is identified on verso as Italian operatic tenor Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) on a visit to Cuba in May of 1920. Condition: Postcards with varying degrees of surface soil and wear, particularly to edges.
