Original 12 in. paper dial signed "Seth Thomas Movement", has black Roman hour numerals, spade hands, brass 8 day time only spring driven movement with hour strike on a coiled gong, long pendulum rod and brass covered bob. Rustic figure eight style wood and paper mache case with relief lettering around the door and lower glass which reads "The Pittsburg Times, All The News - Largest Circulation, one cent", has filigree and American shield emblem. Condition: Original paint on the front, overall very nice; original movement has "F. Kroeber" signature scratched out but maintains "New York, Pat. June 23 & October 6, 1874" and case retains a partial setup instructions label inside. c.1892. 30.5 in. high x 18.5 in. wide x 4.25 in. deep. Weight: 13.25 lbs.
