Description: Rare 1st Battalion 1st Garde-Regiment of Fusiliers (1.Garde-Regt zu Fus) Officers Pickelhaube, fine example of a wartime issue helmet, being a fibre body with large wrap around Prussian officers garde eagle having the additional top scroll with motto “SEMPER TALIS” and central enamelled starburst with iron voided motto “SUUM CUIQUE”. Helmet has officers pattern state and national cockades and silvered scaled chinstraps. Circular spike base with securing stars and fluted officers spike. The spike unscrews from the stem fitting. Interior of the helmet has officers style leather sweatband and satin cloth lining. The helmet shows some wear, the motto on the garde star has surface rust and some Verdigris to the starburst, however this is a very rare Imperial German officers helmet.
