Rare 1908/09 Wales Rugby Autumn/Grand Slam silver commemorative rugby trophy: celebrating Wales First ever undefeated rugby grand slam season defeating Australia 9-6 (12/12/08) , England 8-0 (16/1/09), Scotland 5-3 (6/2/09), France 47-5 (23/2/09) and Ireland 18-5 (13/3/09) – this stunning hallmarked London 1909 trophy features pair of detailed Dragon Handles, the bowl is profusely engraved with Thistles, Roses and Four Leaf clovers, mounted on a rugby ball - both sides of the bowl engraved to incl “Welsh Football Union Souvenir – Winners of 5 International Matches Season 1908-9” and “Matches Won Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, France” – the oval base is stamped Long, Cardiff – c/w black stained wooden oval plinth mounted with silver plated Australia Crest and another crest featuring 4 Lions – small crack to the rugby ball otherwise (G) – Overall 8.75” h x 10.25” x 4.75
